Is there a restriction for boating from coast line of Florida to Cuba? If so, what would I need to pass?

Not mean to copy Miami Vice but I always wanted to do that
just go to Cuba for dinner and come back or something haha,
the boat i’m gonna have there will be fast enough to do the job,
but i know there’s no flights from US to Cuba and vice versa so i’m just wondering. Is it also true that boats that can do 75knotts or miles(unsure which one) / hour is registered with the FBI? will i have trouble transferring ownership over given that i’m Canadian if that is the case?

Can’t its illegal because of the ban but also immigration wise I believe. But either way it technically is illegal & if you did you would be an illegal immigrint not to mention violate american policy. If you are Canadian you might be able to but american citizens are not allow to associate in any way with Cuba let alone visit it. American policy doesn’t want to support Cuba’s oppression right or wrong or whether the policy makes sense its still law & americans can’t visit cuba.

It’s illegal. Read this from a 2004 article:

Going far beyond any previous government directives on Cuba, President Bush infuriated most of the sailing world in February with a presidential proclamation saying U.S. boats could be boarded and seized if federal agents believed the operators were even thinking about heading to Cuba.

Citing the need to combat the “terrorist threat” posed by Cuba, it directs the secretary of Homeland Security to “make rules governing the anchorage and movement of any vessel that may be used, or is susceptible of being used, for voyage into Cuban territorial waters.”

You could be arrested and charged with violating the federal “Trading With the Enemy Act,” a felony that could bring prison time and hefty fines if convicted.

    Nice, huh?
